Ranger 3 and 3 Nozzles

Features:

  • Advanced Hybrid Nozzle Technology:
The Ranger 3 nozzle has the unique capability to function as either an automatic pressure or fixed flow nozzle.
  • HYDRO-FOAM Self-Educting Proportioning:
The Ranger 3 and 3+ nozzles provide easy and efficient foam application through the HYDRO-FOAM capability which automatically proportions foam concentrate at a nearly constant percentage throughout the entire flow range.
  •  HYDRO-FOAM Jet Pump Proportioning Capability
This version of the Ranger 3 nozzle is capable of proportioning foam remotely using jet pumps. The nozzle is fed by remote jet pumps that can be located at the foam source, thousands of feet away from the incident.
  •  Hydro-Chem Capability
This version of the Ranger 3 nozzle is capable of discharging 25 lb (11.3 kg) or 50 lb (22.7 kg) of dry chemical per second with its dry chemical accessories for combating 3-dimensional or pressure fires.

Ranger Automatic Hydro-Chem Monitor Nozzles

Overview:

  •  All Ranger Monitor Nozzles feature constant pressure modulation.
  • These nozzles can flow water or water/foam solution generated by various proportioning methods from 250 gpm to 2,000 gpm (946 Lpm to 7,571 Lpm) depending on model number.
  • The nozzle tip pressure is automatically maintained at approximately 100 psi (6.9 bars) to assure maximum effective reach of the water/foam solution over the flow range.
  • The pressurized stream of dry chemical is discharged via the built-in 1.5 in. (F)NPT chemical port through the dry chemical tip on the nozzle.
  • The dry chemical is carried by the water/foam steam to hit the target, overcoming the very limited reach distance of conventional dry chemical equipment.
  • These nozzles are constructed of anodized aluminum and include a protective rubber bumper to keep the nozzle light weight and durable.

Ranger Automatic Hydro-Foam Monitor Nozzles

Overview:

The HYDRO-FOAM Ranger Nozzles from WILLIAMS FIRE & HAZARD CONTROL are advanced firefighting nozzles. They incorporate the effective range of an automatic nozzle with the exclusive combination of self educting/selectable constant metering foam proportioning. Rangers 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 deliver water flow ranges of 250 gpm to 1,000 gpm (946 Lpm to 3,785 Lpm), 500 gpm to 1,500 gpm (1,893 Lpm to 5,678 Lpm) and 750 gpm to 2,000 gpm (2,839 Lpm to 7,570 Lpm) respectively, while automatically maintaining approximately 100 psi (6.9 bar) throughout their entire flow range, thus maximizing the effective reach distance regardless of the flow. The self-educting feature converts these nozzles to a self-contained foam system by adding on-site foam proportioning at selectable rate of 1% or 3% from an atmospheric source, providing superior portability and flexibility. Acceptable proportioning range may vary with specific concentrate used. An alternative configuration of these nozzles allows foam proportioning from a remote source using Jet Pump Technology. These nozzles are constructed from anodized aluminum and include a protective rubber bumper to make the nozzles light weight and durable. The discharge pattern is easily controlled from full fog to straight stream by using the ergonomically designed rubber encapsulated wrap-around handle. Water inlet is standard (F)NST connection. Optional BSP and NPSH threads are available upon request. Foam port is standard NPT connection. Standard models are provided with manual pattern control. Models with automatic pattern controls are available with 12VDC or 24VDC actuator for popular 3 in. or 4 in. monitors.

High Volume Remote Controlled Monitors

Overview:

High Volume Electric Actuated Remote Control Monitors from WILLIAMS FIRE & HAZARD CONTROL are designed to be mounted at elevated positions for fixed applications.  They have a programmable oscillation capability for automatic operations, but may also be overridden with a matched Hydro-Foam™ nozzle operated remotely through the use of a joystick and switches on a consolidated control panel.  In addition, manual operation can also be accomplished locally through the use of hand-wheels.  Foam concentrate can be proportioned at the nozzle through the use of a jet ratio controller and atmospheric concentrate storage tank.  They are ideal high volume discharge devises of water and foam solutions for mitigating fire, flammable or toxic chemical vapor and other hazards to protect refineries, chemical processing areas, ship loading docks, etc… These monitors are variations of the best-selling Ranger 3+ and Ambassador Monitors from WF&HC.  6” or 8” fabricated stainless steel waterways provide maximum flow efficiency, minimum friction loss, and the ultimate in product longevity.  Flowing 1,500 – 4,000 gpm (5,678 – 15,142 Lpm) and 2,500 – 6,000 gpm (9,464 – 22,712 Lpm), respectively, with maximum working pressure is 200 psi (13.8 bars).  All electric actuators are reversible, NEMA 7 explosion proof, refinery grade, FM Approved and C.S.A. certified.  Only power and control conductors are required.  No external controls, starters, or starters in motor control center are needed.  Monitors can be programmed to “return to home” position (horizontal, vertical, nozzle to wide angle fog) after use, automatically, whether P.L.C. controlled or hard wired. Two direct mounted electric actuators with speed reducing gear drives installed on the motor enable remote control of horizontal position, as well as vertical trajectory.  Field-adjustable limit switches on each actuator allow 360º horizontal rotation and from -70º to +70º vertical travel.  Monitor traversing speed is a least 10º per second. A third direct-mounted electric actuator enables remote operation for the nozzle’s discharge pattern, from wide fog to straight stream. Straight stream, Hydro-foam or Hydro-Chem nozzles are available with such monitors.  The monitors are constructed with stainless steel waterway and swivels with stainless steel ball bearings.  Monitors include lifting lug for handling and mounting.  The gears are steel and bronze with a nickel plated brass shaft.   They are supplied with red epoxy finish.   The monitors and controls are designed for operation with temperatures as low as -20ºF (-29°C).  Weather protective cowlings are provided over all gears and shafts.  Standard motor voltage is 480/3/60.  Standard Control voltage is 120 VAC.  Other voltages are available upon request.
